Our mind is a complex system that determines our behaviours. All people have different behaviours but there are certain common behaviours that most people shows unconsciously. We will try to manipulate these behaviours and apply them to get more traffic to your website, influence them to buy your products, or get more attention on those items you want them to pay more attention to. I've been studying psychology and many experiments and surveys tells me a lot about people behaviours from their unconsious mind.

People tends to show greater response on immediate results for what they can get. For example, if you offer them $10 dollars that they can get instantaneously or in a short time compared to $50 dollars in one month time, they will tend to pickup the first choice to get the reward instantly.
So how can you apply this to your website? If you're selling your products, you can have them try out your demo version of your products first and if you want people to subscribe and sign up for your particuplar programme, have them rewarded first by providing them some useful information or some initial benefits from your programme. Giving away freebies that have some useful value is a good approach to attract them into something bigger.
2. Allow Your Visitors To Make Commitment
Your visitors will re-visit your website more often if they've made some commitment to your website. For example, if you allow them to leave comments, they will consider those comments as their commitment to your website and will value the commitment they've made. This increase the loyalty of your visitors and will keep them coming back to your website to check for replies and continue to read more about your topics and then post more comments.
Creating a community and forum serves the same purpose. It is a great idea to create a community or forum to allow them to participate and contribute in your website or forum. This not only increases your website content from their valuable comments or posts, it also saves you a lot of time to create those content for your website.
3. The Elements of Basic Needs For Human
This method is based on human desire and basic needs. People tends to get attracted and remember better to thrilling events, danger events or arousal events. Pictures, movies or advertisements that contain these elements, i.e. sex, food, danger, etc put your body and mind into a highly alert state. With this alert state, you tend to pay more attention to the related content and engrained what you encountered deeply in your memory.
Many commercials advertisements and programmes have applied this theory to promote their products and services. You can apply this theory as well by creating exciting picture or videos i.e vertical limit, sky diving, etc or incorporate pictures with attractive woman to your website.

If you act like talking to your visitors personally, you will definitely get higher attention from them. The "you" word in your sentence can easily grabs their attention. For example,

Second way of saying will be more appealing and will get people to give more attention on the content of the sentence. So when you're writing your articles, write as if you're talking to your friends beside you and your visitors can then feel the same way and get persuaded easily.
5. Proves, Testimonials And Reviews From Others
In doing business, you need to get trust from your customers. If the products, services or information you provided have testimonials and good comments from others who used them, you will gain great credibility from your customers. This is because your visitors or customers will look for what is the choice and decision that other people made and they will unconsiously validate and trust your stuffs when they saw confirmation note from others.
