How To Have Your Domain Name Hosted With Your Desired Web Hosting
After you've successfully registered your domain name, you need to have the domain name DNS (Domain Name Server) forwarded to your desired web host (you don't have to do this if your domain name provider is your web hosting server, read this at the bottom of this page). If you registered with google, your domain name provider is NOT google. Google doesn't provide domain name for you but google has partnership with Enom and will automatically have your domain name registered under Enom when you pay through google. So, if you want to change the domain name setting like DNS, Enom Domain Acess is where you should go but not google. Another web host that has partnership of google is GoDaddy.
Lets us take google as your registration and awardspace as your web hosting for example. After you've registered your domain name through google and payment has been verified, you need to go to enom to access your domain in order to change the DNS to awardspace. In order to do so, first you need to logon to your awardspace and under domain manager, you just have to typed in the domain name you registered there. Then at the domain you created, you need to copy the DNS server (consists 4 server i.e ns1.awardspace.com, ns2.awardspace.com and so on), login to your enom domain account and then paste the server under the DNS information (type in all the DNS of awardspace into domain in enom although two would be sufficient). And that's it, you just need to wait for the DNS to propagate from your domain in enom to awardspace. Be patient, it may takes hours to days for the propagation.
Domain Name Forward From Enom To Awardspace

Alternatively, if you register your domain through your web host, you do not need to forward your domain as the domain name by default is automatically forwarded locally. You can directly use that domain name in your web host right after registration. This saves you some troubles especially if you're a beginners. If you're new and wanna avoid having troubles, you can goto Awardspace Web Hosting which i'm using right now and register a domain name there. (this implies that you are using awardspace as your web host but you can also choose to forward your domain name to other web host if you want)
